Have you ever had the feeling you’ve been living in a endless loop?
“Wake up, Go to Work, Wash, Rinse and Repeat….”
For the past three years I’ve been feeling this way. Feeling as if I need to live this way to survive….that this is the way life has to be, but there’s gotta be more to life, right?
Some of us have been living in this loop for months, years, and even decades. Letting go of our dreams and aspirations, our passions and ambitions…in favor of security, but why do we do this? Don’t get me wrong being secure whether personally or financially is a beautiful thing, but is security worth the feeling of regret?
Some of us have been living in this loop for the sake of getting by day to day….paycheck to paycheck…not really enjoying the fruits of our labor. It’s definitely hard out here and student loans IZ REAL!!! but as we work we need to be able to play. Discover new passions, treat ourselves and enjoy the little money we do have (responsibly). We all can’t just pack out and go for our dreams on a whim, but we can always make a plan.
Some of us have been living in this loop as a means to provide for our families while forgetting about ourselves. Sacrificing our dreams, so our loved ones can live theirs. This is a beautiful example of love and sacrifice, but in the end can leave us feeling bitter and resentful towards the ones we love the most.
I know I want to wake up everyday feeling fulfilled. Waking up with a smile on my face knowing I’m doing something I’m truly passionate about….something I was called to do. In order to do so I (we) gotta get out of these loops. We need to wake up from our mundane cycles and live the lives we were called to live. It may mean taking a chance and going straight towards your passion or if you’re like me making a plan (with a timeline) with an end game. Everyday’s not going to be an exciting adventure, but it would be the adventure you were born to live…..an adventure that fulfills you in every way.
If you want to write, go back to school, sing, dance, whatever it may be…go for it!
Life is short, but at the same time it’s pretty long (lol). Let’s live it doing something we’re all passionate about!
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed” -Proverbs 16:3
